Many people across America are wanting to know, who are the Little Rock nine. They are
nine ordinary African-American teenagers wanting to stop segregation.
Their names are
Minnijean Brown Trickey, Elizabeth Eckford, Ernest green, Thelma Mothershed Wair,
Melba Pattillo Beals, Carlotta Walls LaNier, Terrence Roberts, Jefferson Thomas, and
Gloria Ray Karlmark.
On September 3 1957, these nine teenagers walk bravely up to the front door steps
to Central High. Sadly, the were not allowed to enter the school and got turned
down by the National Guard.
After 2 weeks of the Little Rock Nine group trying to
enter central high, riots began to break out, and the Little Rock Nine got removed for
their own safety.
On September 25th, 1957, the Little Rock Nine got safely escorted to Central High for
thier first day of school, thanks to president Dwight D.
Howard over a recent national
televised speech, his words where “ Mob rule cannot be allowed to override the decision
of the courts.’’
The Nine got escorted by guards each day to walk them to their classrooms.
Later on that year, Minnijean Brown, had gotten suspended for pouring chili on a group
of boys, because they refused to let her get to her cafeteria seat
